Fully Decrypt All Files on a Single Device

This article explains how to fully decrypt all files on a specific device before removing the Actifile agent.

In some cases, you may need to decrypt all files on a specific device—for example, when replacing a laptop and transferring files before reinstalling the Actifile agent on the new device.

To remove Actifile while ensuring all files remain decrypted, follow these steps:

Step 1. Go to Deployment > Installed Devices, find the device you want to decrypt, and click its name to open the settings.

Step 2. Set Allow Encryption to off. The agent status will display Pending until all files are fully decrypted.

Step 3. Once the agent status changes to Online, you can safely remove the agent using the deployment tools or manually. When uninstalling, be sure to use the correct uninstall key.
